            There are many experiences in our life that we undergo difficulties. There is a saying that "When the going gets tough, the tough gets going." It means that when a situation is difficult or dangerous, strong people work harder to resolve the problem. This saying could be rephrased word-for-word as: "When the situation becomes hard, strong people start working." So, let me share my experience related to this saying.

            In my third year lever in Cavite National Science High School, I undergo many difficult experiences. One of these is Research. At first, I have a difficulty in proposing a title to our teacher. All the research titles that I propose were rejected. But because of my willingness to have a research title, I kept on proposing and proposing a title to the teacher. Until she gave me a research. Then in the night, I kept on researching and researching about the plant named "Lunasia amara Blanco." I have a difficulty in researching in the internet because there were very few information that I found so I lost hope. I also went to the library to search for botany books but I failed. I even thought of changing the research title that the teacher gave me but it was too late. I imagined that I will propose and propose a title over and over again and thinking that the teacher will reject it. So, to my willingness to finish a research, I searched and searched for information in the internet until I found many information at the very end part of the site. I even slept for two hours to make a research proposal. Then the next day, I was surprised because we were only few who submitted the research proposal. I am proud of myself because when the situation became hard, I did not lose hope but I started working for my willingness to finish it.

              So, thank God that I finished my research proposal. In this kind of experiences I learned my lesson that I should not lose hope. I should be tough or strong in every experiences that I undergo to be successful.

      At last! A day to have fun! It was a very beautiful morning and the weather was good. I am very excited because I am one of the officer of the Math Club that has a specific role to do to make the program successful. Let me share one of the most unforgettable experience that I had.

      In the morning, I was very haggard because I am the contestant for the King and Queen. The one who will put makeup in my face is not yet arriving but the program is about to start! Oh gosh! I kept on praying and I'm already losing hope. But thanks God because it arrived in the last minute. My aunt suddenly called me and said to go up in the stage now. I was very excited so I went in the stage and made a pose. But to my disappointment, it was the contestants of the freshmens! Oh nooo! From that, I lost my self-confidence. So, when it was already my time to go to stage, I was very shy. But I did'nt expect that many will shout and clap after I had introduced my self. HAHA! I think that I became famous for what I did. Hahaha! It was the most unforgettable experience.

     Now, back to the math fest. After the King and Queen, the math trail was about to start. I was assigned in the station 2, in the front of Maliksi Building. I enjoyed it. Especially when the math trail participants are having difficulty in solving the puzzle. Haha!

     In the afternoon, there were many handsome and pretty students who were wearing casual dress. They were included in the Mr. and Mrs. Kapnayan. I just shouted very loud for the representative of Juniors who were Joanna and Michael, also known as Jamich <3. Woah! I love them! They are very sweet!

     There were many programs held in the math fest. These were the intoducing of King and Queen, Mth trail, Mr. and Mrs. Kapnayan, the Singing Mathematician, the Math Jinge, and many others. The smooth flow of these programs made the math fest successful. So, I am very proud to be a member of the calgeotrist society. I hope that this kind of program will be launched again next year! Woaah! Thank you Lord for a wonderful day!

      Dear Shepherd,
                    I am confused why you need to write an unrealistic poem. We all know that a person can't make a flower with thousand fragrant posies and gowns with buckles of the purest gold. These flowers and gowns do fade. I am not up to the materials that you will provide me. But I am up to the love you will give to me. I will rather accept the opportunity if you would say that you will stay with me and be with me forever. So, sad to say, I refuse your offer. Don't worry your true love will come at the right time.

            Yehey! My most awaited event of the year had come! Because of my over excitement, I woke up 3:00 a.m. and started arranging my things and many foods. When I arrive at the school, I was amazed because the students were already organized according to bus number. From there, I knew that our bus number is 7. I stocked it in my mind to avoid being lost.

            From the bus, I met our tourist guide named Kuya Jimmy. He had a good sense of humor. He made me entertained so I didn't sleep on the bus. He even started the trip with a prayer. Upon traveling, he informed us about the history of our province. He even asked question. This made the trip lively.

           Upon reaching the first destination which was the Science Discovery Center at the Mall of Asia, I felt sudden enjoyment. When I was entering the Science Discovery Center, the hair in my skin was lifting due to my excitement. We first entered the dome that looks like the earth. The one discussing was asking questions. From that, I felt nervous. Upon entering the dome, we jumped while saying "jump baby bear!". Haha! We came back from being a kid. The next station was full of fishes and smells bad odor. From there, I saw Mr. T. A fish with a girlfriend and knows how to dance "teach me how to fishy". The next station was related to earthquake. At first, I thought that we would experience the true earthquake. The land was separating into two and the buildings were crashing. But to my disappointment, it was not. It was only a platform that was moving back and forth. But I enjoyed it. The next station was the planetarium. Upon watching, I felt suddon pain in my back because I was looking upward for the whole period of time. For me, it was the most boring station. The next was related to airplanes. I tried driving one airplane but suddenly, the controller broke. I was nervous that I might pay for it. So, I proceeded to the next station. It was the Sniff-Sniff. Woah! I think I smelled my armpit from there. It was very yucky and I felt like vomiting. When I was about to exit the Science Discovery Center, I felt happy and lots of fun because I learned many things.

         The next destination was the Myth of the Human Body. I was very excited to enter there. At first, we watched about pregnancy. Woah! It was very hot and very foul smell there! I can't merely breath. Oh! this is the moment! Upon entering the Myth of the Human Body, I met our hot-headed guide that was very fast in talking. I was very interested in the internal parts of the human body. My other classmates wants to vomit already. Woah! I really enjoyed it. I learned many things.

          The next destination was the Kulturang Pinoy. I met Remington and John Pratts. Hahaha! I was star-strucked in the handsome drummer boy. He was very good and talented. Haha! But the best part was in the room where the students and teachers danced with the costumes because I saw my classmates in the power point without knowing that they are already in the video. But in the last part, I was touched in the power point about grandmothers and fathers. But I enjoyed it. It was the best destination. Upon reaching the bus, I knew that we can't go go to the forth destination because it was under construction. I felt sad and disapointed.

               And last but not the least was in Mall of Asia again where we are free to enjoy and have fun. Upon reaching the mall, I rapidly searched for the ice skating ring. We spent almost 2 hours in the skating ring but I enjoyed it even I fell many times. My favorite part was the raining of snow in the middle. Hahaha!

             Science Discovery Center, Myth of the Human Body, Kulturang Pinoy and Mall of Asia were all the destination that I reached. I think that this is the best field trip that I experienced. I learned many things although it costs too much. My payment was worth and perfect for the enjoyment that I experienced. Thank God because he did not leave me in the trip. I hope that I could experience another field trip next time.

           The National Career Assessment Examination or NCAE is a test taken by third year high school students in the Philippines. It helps the students in choosing what course will they take in their college. This is needed to determine the students' strength and weakness in any field.

           The NCAE was also held in our school and I was one of the third year student who took the examination. Different proctors came to guard us and give the test papers. Every student was designated in different rooms according to the category of the surnames. All the students felt different emotions. I felt very tense and nervous. I even told a joke to my classmates that if I will not pass that NCAE, I will not take my college anymore. At 8 a.m. the NCAE had started. The proctor introduced herself and told us the rules and regulations in answering the test. Before I answered, I read the prayer of the student on the NCAE test booklet. When I am done answering all the test, I did not identify if what field do I excel. I am just in the middle of nowhere. I don't know if I'm good in Science, Mathematics, Manipulative skills, Clerical Ability and Entrepreneurial skill. I just think that I am good in choosing the odd man out. Oh no. It is very hard if I don't know what field do I excel. I don't know what course am I going to take.

          The NCAE in our school was very successful. I just hope that I will know if what field do I excel so I will know what course am I going to take.

       A tree is defined as a woody plant that has many secondary branches supported clear of the ground on a single main stem or trunk with clear apical dominance. If I were a tree, I want to be a mango tree. Mango trees are large trees, reaching ten to 30 meters in height, with a broad, rounded canopy that may attain 30 to 38 meters in width. The mango tree is known for its longevity, with some specimens being noted to still bear fruit at 300 years of age. Leaves are lanceolate to linear, glossy evergreen in color, and have prominent light colored veins and entire margins. Fully grown leaves may be ten to 32 cm long and two to five cm broad, and may persist for several years.

      I chose this tree because we have certain similarities with each other. The mango tree has shady leaves that protect humans from sunlight while resting under a tree. Like me, I am very protective. I protect my family from illness by reminding them to drink their medicines and telling them that the food that they are eating are not allowed to them. The mango tree is also known for its longevity. Like me,  my feelings take a long time to forget. Example, if my parents scold me for a mistake that I have done, it takes a long time for me to forget that. Unlike others, the words that they heard from their parents just gone out from their ear. This tree also bears a mango fruit that is very delicious. Like me, I always give love and care to others by giving them my full respect.

     I consider myself a giving tree because I show my love for others by giving them my full respect. Like the tree, it gives a mango fruit that provides food to humans and it symbolizes  prosperity.  It symbolizes prosperity because the fruit is rich in love and care that came from the heart of the tree.

     Intramural sports or intramurals are recreational sports organized within a set geographic area. Every school is celebrating their intramurals every year. Each student is choosing their own valuable sports. They are celebrating it to enjoy and have fun under the sun. They are competing with other years. Each team has their own specified name. Let me present to you the intramurals that happened in our school.


      The day started with an assembly in the basketball court. Each team has their own name. Green Chevrolet for first years, Yellow Lamborghini, for third years Red Ferrari and for fourth years, Blue Porsche. The names originated from the brand of the cars. The program started with a prayer, singing of national anthem, and the CNSHS hymn. The principal was assigned to lead the opening remarks. The program was still pushed through even the weather is very hot. It is the reason why our complexion is half. 30% white and 70% black. After the opening remarks, each team prepared for their own Mr. and Mrs. Physik. Their costumes was really prepared and very gorgeous. After that, the cheerers danced and yelled their cheers at the court. All of the team's cheers were astonishing and great! We can say that the introduction of the intramurals was very well prepared and organized. Everyone enjoyed and have fun.

      A few hours later, each event started with the specific time. The events were sepak, tag of war, patintero, sack race, volleyball, basketball, badminton and table tennis. Each sport has an assigned medic in case of emergency. Every team is cheering for their own team. The teachers were also assigned to be the officials in different events. Whenever the weather is going bad, the students were praying with all their hearts because the principal said that if the weather is not good, we will have our classes. Nooooo!! It is our great pleasure because God heard our prayers. The weather became good and we enjoyed the program.

     On the awarding ceremony, every team received their medals and trophies for their specific place. The Blue Porsche became the champions and the Red Ferrari and Yellow Lamborghini had their tie in the rank. Everyone enjoyed the intramurals. It is very funny because whenever a team won, someone will do a planking in the middle of a court. HAHA! This is the best! Most of the students lost their voice because of extreme shouting and cheering for their teams. Like me, I also have many bruises in my arms because of playing volleyball in two hours successively without resting. I am very addicted to volleyball because it was the first time that I played that game. I am only forced by Jellie to join due to lack of players. At first, I really don't know what to do, how to serve and the rules. But I really enjoyed it. I CONCLUDE THAT THIS INTRAMURALS IS THE BEST INTRAMURALS EVER!!!! I hope that it will happen again. Thanks to God, the teachers, and the students for making a successful event.

I agree. Because love is in accordance with the bible. Love is why Jesus our Lord gave His life for our salvation. Shakespeare's interpretation describes clearly what love is.

        As of definition, music is the art of arranging sounds in time so as to produce a continuous, unified, and evocative composition, as through melody, harmony, rhythm, and timbre. We have different styles and techniques to produce our own music that suits to our taste. Ballad, rock, jazz, pop, and classic are some of these. People use musical instruments to produce sounds. But some musics can make us irritated because of the unarranged sounds that does not produce melody and harmony.

     Music makes our life colorful and meaningful. According to the quote, "Music has been my playmate, my lover, and my crying towel." it is with us in times of needs. It can be our playmate because it entertains us and makes us happy. We will be forced to dance to its wonderful rhythm and melody. It can also be our lover because we become emotional if the message of the song is very sad. Some people are in-love with the song so they listen to it repeatedly. It can also be our crying towel because whenever we have problems, we just listen to our favorite music and it can make us forget our problems temporarily.

       Every students need to rest. That is the reason why they have summer vacation. They were given almost three months vacation which are March, April, and May. They need to bond with their families, have fun, and play.

        I beg to disagree the transferring of classes on September to May because the students will not enjoy their vacation if the weather is not good. How would they swim on the beach and have fun under the sun if there is a typhoon? I think that they would not enjoy their vacation because they will just stay at their house. Waiting for the announcement of PAGASA. Or else, they will just do a daily routine like using Facebook, eating, then sleeping. They will just do that repeatedly. We know that it is not healthy because during the vacation time, the students participate in sports league. But during rainy days, they cannot participate due to the bad weather. Another one is the Holy Week and the fiestas in May will be affected. If this will push through, I think that the DepEd will tell the students that they will have classes on Saturdays. As an effect, the students will feel tired and they will be sick.

        I hope that the DepED will not push through the opening of classes on September to May. I am already contented in the months of classes. I enjoy it and I am having fun. I just hope that the typhoon will not be that strong anymore because I want to learn many things from school.

           A fear is a feeling of anxiety caused by the presence of danger, evil, pain, and terror. We all know that everyone of us have our own fear. There are many kinds of fear. Examples are; fear of heights, insects, water, fire, ghosts, and many more. Fear is caused by a bad experience. Its effect is to let the person experience a phobia. A phobia is a type of disorder defined as a persistent fear of an object in which the sufferer is  avoiding the fear. It cannot be avoided entirely, as the sufferer will resist the object with marked distress.

          I've never been as scared as I was when I am about to sleep after watching the horror movie named "The Grudge". There was that girl named Sadako that has a very long hair and crawling towards the protagonist in the movie. I was about to sleep that time. The lights were all off and I am at the middle of the bed with my brothers at my side. I woke up in the middle of the night and I think that my blanket is moving downward. I think it has been pulled, but when I look to my front, there's no one pulling my blanket. I just say to may mind that it is only my imagination. At that time, my sweat is running out of my body. I think it was a "major major" sweating. Then after that, I cried softly and my whole body is feeling shaky because I heard footsteps coming near me. I tried to close my eyes so that I will not see it. But when I opened my eyes, I saw my aunt walking towards the comfort room. I felt relief because I knew from that time that it is not a ghost. From then on, I am always sleeping with my door open if I am alone. I am afraid of the dark because I often open my lampshade so it is still bright. I am really afraid of it because at the front of our house lies a broad cemetery. I always here a unique sound that made me nervous. But when look to the window, it is a goat. I always go to my mother to ask advise when I am afraid. She always say that I should just pray the souls in Purgatory and think positive.

      Another story that I have been scared is when I am in the bathroom when a cockroach went to my foot. I think I was six years old when this embarrassing moment happened to me. I was about to get the shampoo when a cockroach go to my foot. I shouted and cried immediately. I called my father and he killed the cockroach using his slippers. I felt relief when he killed the cockroach. After that, two cockroaches went again to my foot. I didn't stop crying anymore. From then on, I poured the pH care to the cockroach. I think it was poisoned so it died. But my mother became angry to me because I wasted the pH care just to kill that bad cockroach. From then on, I did not touch a cockroach toy.  Even spiders and big ants. I am afraid of them. It trembles me and makes me feel shaky all over my body.

      A friend is someone who one knows, likes, and trusts. I am afraid to lose a friend. I have been scared when my best friend named Jairah went apart from me. It was the end of second year when all the students were distributed to different sections in third year. I was shocked when I saw that my best friend is on hydrogen while I am on the oxygen section. I cried that time because I am afraid to lose her. We promised to be best friends forever 'till the end of time. I am thinking that she might have a new best friend in her section. I really love my friends because I am not comfortable when one of my friend is angry to me.

      I am also afraid of heights. I think I inherit it from my father. Whenever I look into a cliff, I feel nervous, shaky, and cold. I become pale and not comfortable. I can't even cross the hanging bridge. I need the company of my father before I cross a hanging bridge. If my father is not there, I can't cross the hanging bridge. There is a time when I am crossing a hanging bridge and I am with my father. The children were jumping in the bridge causing the bridge to shake and move. I shouted at them and said not to jump. Me and my father just rode a tricycle because we are both afraid.

     Ghosts, dark, heights, insects and losing friends are some of the things that I am scared about.  Some of the people say that we should face our fear so that we will be brave and strong. I hope that I can face my fear
someday.

 

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday........... Oh yeah! Friday! That's my favorite day of the week. Especially this week. The teachers announced that there will be no classes. My classmates were all very happy, except me. You know why? Because I spent my Thursday night working for the Home Reading Report. I think I already slept 1:00 a.m. just to finish the plot. Because of sleeping too late, my eyes are close open when one of our teachers is discussing with a very soft voice. I don't want to be caught sleeping because if the teacher saw me sleeping, she will let me dance or let me jog around the campus. Gosh! I don't want to do that. It is so very tiring and the weather is hot.

     Okay, back to the first day of the week. Did you  know that I still tried my best to go to school even if I am not feeling well? I have a severe pharyngitis and severe cold with matching cough and my head is really aching.

      A hobby is a regular activity or interest that is undertaken for pleasure.

        Singing, swimming, listening to music, biking, watching television, texting, surfing the net, playing computer games, eating, shopping at the mall, and playing with my pets are some of my hobbies. Whenever I am doing these, I do not notice the time because I am enjoying doing it and I am having fun.

        One listed above is singing. I think I am good in singing because my mother said that my voice is good, so my father is currently finding a singing lesson sesion to develop my voice and to be a good singer. I am just a little bit shy to sing in front of many people because they might criticize me.

        The second one is swimming. I really love swimming. I can do freestyle continuously back and forth in the swimming pool in a short period of time.I also love biking.

        The third one is listening to music. Music gives color and adds meaning to my life. I think my problems are removed temporarily when I am listening to music especially pop music sung by Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, Kesha and Britney Spears. But my favorite is Lady Gaga. I love her songs and her styles in singing. As of now, my favorite song is "Last Friday Night by Katy Perry.

       Watching television makes me happy. As of now, my favorite television show is "100 Days to Heaven" because it inspires me and I am learning many lessons. My favorite television artist is Kim Chiu because she is very beautiful, talented and good in acting. But I seldom watch soap operas anymore because I often watch cartoons especially "Phineas and Ferb" and "Mr. Bean". Even if it is always a replay, I am still watching it. I am also fond of watching cooking shows and fashion shows in television because I want to be a chef and fashion designer someday. I also watch movies in HBO especially adventures and fantasies like "The Spiderwick Chronicles". I also watch horror movies, but when ghosts appear, I am covering my eyes with a pillow and ask someone "hey, what happened? where's the ghost?".

       Playing computer games is my favorite hobby. It entertains me especially Audition Dance Battle and Dota. My classmates become shocked when they discovered that I am playing Dota because it is only for boys. They are shocked because I can beat them. In fact, I have beaten my crush in Dota. I can play computer games straight in eight hours without standing. I am a computer addict and computer is my bestfriend. My favorite site in the net is facebook! Yeah! I can't even resist a day without being online. I want to be updated with my friends' status. I am always excited in reading new notifications and messages from my facebook everyday.

        I really love shopping at the mall especially at Mall of Asia. My favorite shop there is Pinkbox. I am fond of buying different styles and colors of headbands, pony and hair clips. But I like color pink the most. I am also fond of buying dress, shoes, bags and jewelries because I love attending in parties. I am a shop-oholic person. I love pairing dresses. I also love buying shampoo, soap, cologne, lotion, facial wash and toothpaste with my mother at the super market. My favorite shampoo is head and shoulders because it is the world's number one shampoo according to the commercial and when I am using it, I do not have dandruff. My favorite soap is tender care because it makes my skin soft. My favorite facial wash is ponds because it prevents the growth of pimples and prevents my face to be dry. Lastly, my favorite toothpaste is colgate because it is the number one recommended by dentists and it makes my teeth shiny and white.

       My hobby that I am doing time to time is eating. I am always going back and forth to the kitchen to get some food. My favorite food is something that is sour like "paksiw".  My favorite desert is ice cream especially cookies and cream flavor. My favorite fruit is lychee. In fact, I can eat all three kilos of lychee continuously in just a minute. My favorite fast food restaurant is KFC. I like the hotshots and mushed potatoes there. My favorite beverage is iced tea. It refreshes me.

       I also loves to text with my friends even if I am only loading once every two months. The first thing I am finding when I woke up in the morning is my cellphone. I love reading text messages from my friends especially the jokes and inspirational quotes.

       I also love to play with my pets. This is my past time whenever my mother is using the computer. I am dressing them up and designing their houses. My favorite pet is cat, as seen in my profile. I love holding their fur. I even sleep with them in my bed even if my father is saying that it is dirty.

       Singing, playing computer games, shopping at the mall, texting, eating, watching television and swimming are my hobbies. I have my own hobbies that makes me different with other individuals. The hobbies that I do reflects my attitude.

 

        Every member of the family have their own duties and responsibilities to build a solid family. We all know that parents have bigger responsibilities. They work hard for their family so that they will not have a financial problem. But children have responsibilities too. In common, they show their love, care and respect to all the members of the family.

        In my own family, I have different responsibilities. Although I am the youngest, I still do my best to build a solid family. As a daughter of two working doctors, I must understand that they are busy and do not have enough time for me, so I should follow the house rules. The first rule that I really need to do is to focus on my studies so I will have a successful future and to be independent. The second rule is to pray everyday. I always pray before sleeping. I pray for every member of my family. There is a saying that "a family that prays together, stays together". This is the main reason why our family is strong. We all pray together even if we are not together in entering the church. We all have faith in God. We also have cooperation in our house. We help each other in times of needs. We share each others' problems and give advice to it.

      Rufino S. Diez, Ma. Vilma V. Diez, Paul Andrei V. Diez, John Robyn V. Diez and Ruviel V. Diez are the members of my happy and strong family. I wish that when we have our family outing, we are complete. Because whenever we go in an outing, we lack a member. My eldest brother, Paul Andrei V. Diez, is working as an electrician in a ship, landing in different countries. He goes home only every six months. My other brother, John Robyn V. Diez, is studying in FEU in Fairview. He goes home only twice a month. While my parents are both busy, working as a doctor. I hope one day that we are all together. Because whenever we are together, I feel happy and proud because I have a strong and happy family. Even though our house is not that pretty, our family is still strong.
